I recently got this book by artist Travis Louie. First of all, those are paintings. Yes, I know. The guy is a genius. The paintings look like old photographs and that's why at first I was afraid of turning the pages. The characters look so real and yet they are monsters wearing beautiful clothes. But Travis tells their stories in such a humorous and honest way that they don't look so scary anymore (except for the little rabbit girl, she freaks me out).
