L'hiver arrive...

 

  

Yes, it's that time of the year again...I can't believe how fast the summer passed. It's getting dark around 4:30 pm and I want to go to bed by 5:00 pm, and eat loads of chocolate (at the same time). Above a new attempt of painting and some pictures I took from my balcony. I love the light during the month of October and beginning of November.

 I did a game for the September issue of chickaDEE magazine. I drew some Canadian trees and birds.

Tête Bedaine Orteil

I know it's kind of late, but I was on vacation so I was not able to talk about this earlier. I have a painting in this exhibition called Tête Bedaine Orteil at the Illustration Quebec Gallery. It was kind of hard to do it, since the last time I painted I was in college. The good thing is I want to keep painting! My work featured is kind of like the red monster from the last post. They made a fun game with the paintings, so you can simulate all the possibilities. Play here. Thank you everybody from the association for the opportunity!

Je sais que c'est un peu tard, mais j'étais en vacance alors je n'ai pu pas parler sur ça plus tôt. J'ai des tableaux à l'exposition Tête Bedaine Orteil sur l'Illustration Québec Galerie. Ça a été un peu difficile à faire, parce que la dernière fois que j'ai faite de la peinture j'étais à l'université. La bonne nouvelle c'est que je veux continuer à peinturer! Mes tableaux sont similaires au monstre rouge du post dernier. Ils ont fait un jeu avec les tableaux, alors vous pouvez simuler les possibilités de combinaison. Jouez ici. Some illustrations I did for CEC Éditions . It was really fun to illustrate a classic Like Alice. I illustrated one chapter of the book.

Trip to Toronto

Oi!

I'm back from Toronto and it was great! I had the opportunity to meet a lot of really talented people and to show my work to professional publishers, editors and graphic designers. I'm really glad I went! The next day I visited the amazing Art Gallery of Ontario (last picture). I saw some great exhibitions including some works from Tom Thomson. I really love his work. David Blackwood print exhibition was also very beautiful. 

Je suis de retour de Toronto et il a été super bon! J’ai eu l’opportunité de connaitre plusieurs illustrateurs vraiment talentueux et de montrer mon travail à des professionnels du métier. Je suis très contente que je sois allée! Le lendemain, j’ai visité le Musée de Beaux Arts de l’Ontario (dernière photo).  J’ai vu des super expositions et même quelques travaux de Tom Thomson. J’aime beaucoup son travail. L’exposition des gravures de David Blackwood c’est très joli aussi. Ah et bien sûr, j’ai pratiqué mon français!  

 

Ooh Là Là Illustration Show

Next week I'm going to Toronto for the Ooh Là Là Illustration Show, an event organized by AIIQ. 40 illustrators from Quebec are going there to present their work for professionals of the design, publishing, advertising (and so on) industry. I think it will be a great opportunity to meet other illustrators and of course to make good contacts, hopefully amazing contracts! For the first time I used the services of Moo to make my promotional material. I love the result so much!!! The pictures doesn't look very good, but, believe me, the quality is amazing! I was so happy to see all of my monsters printed...they look so cute...

La semaine prochaine, je vais aller à Toronto pour participer au Ooh Là Là Illustration Show, un événement organisé par l’AIIQ. 40 illustrateurs du Québec sélectionnés présenteront leurs portfolios devant les professionnels des milieux de la publicité, du design, de l’édition et du magazine torontois. Je pense que ça sera une super opportunité de connaitre d’autres illustrateurs et bien sûr, de faire des bons contacts, j’espère de super contrats! Pour la première foi, j’ai fait mon matériel promotionnel chez Moo. J’aime beaucoup le résultat! Les photos ne sont pas très bonnes, mais, croyez-moi, la qualité est exceptionnelle! Je suis tellement heureuse de voir mes petits monstres imprimés… ils sont trop cutes…

book cover versions

Oi!

I did two versions of the same book cover for Les Éditions CEC. I did the first one thinking about boys and girls, and the second one focusing on the boys. I like both! It was fun to draw all the tiny details and also to adapt some of the elements for a more "boyish" look. I will talk more about this project later...

J’ai fait deux versions de la même couverture d’un livre pour Les Éditions CEC. J’ai pensé aux garçons et aux filles pour faire la première version, et surtout aux garçons pour faire la deuxième. J’aime les deux! Il a été super fun de dessiner tous les petits détails et aussi d’adapter quelques éléments pour arriver à un résultat plus « garçon ». Je vais parler sur ce projet plus tard…
