This month I had the opportunity to create and apply an art activity with a group of children from 4 to 5 years old. That's what I did:
So, they had to complete the drawing, color, cut and then assemble the flower. As I expected they did a great job! Children have an unexpected and imaginative way of looking at things that adults can't anticipate. This activity will be a part of a bigger project I'm working on. I found out that it makes me really happy to be a part of the creative process and to work side by side with children as an illustrator and as an educator. It's one of those moments in your life when something clicks inside your head and life starts to make more sense, if you know what I mean...but anyway here's what they did:
I love how they assembled the parts differently, mixing leaves and petals and using unexpected colors. I will post some more of this activities I'm working on.
